Who writes this

I am Jordan Taylor. I operate as a sole proprietor in Smithville, Ontario. NorthOffice is a content site. It explains how common small-business tools behave in Canada: GST/HST, Interac, CRA payroll (CPP, EI, T4, ROE), and list prices in Canadian dollars when the vendor publishes them.

I have not personally hands-on tested every product on this site for these reviews. If a page includes a product, it is because Canadian businesses actually use it and the vendor publishes Canadian features or pricing — not because I ran it for six months in a shop.

What NorthOffice is

• A comparison and how-to site aimed at Canadian sole props and small businesses.
• A place that prefers CRA pages and Canadian pricing URLs over US default blog copy.
• Honest about affiliates. Links may earn a commission later. They are not affiliate tracking URLs in this first version.

What NorthOffice is not

• Not legal, tax, or accounting advice. Talk to your accountant or a CPA when the numbers matter.
• Not a hands-on test lab. There are no “we used this for 6 months” claims.
• Not a traffic or earnings report. I do not invent visitor counts or affiliate income.
• Not a bank, processor, or software vendor.

How to read a “best” list

“Best” here means best fit for a Canadian small business of a certain shape — freelancer, café, trades crew — given tax, payments, and price. It is not a ranking bought by a vendor. Read the methodology and the affiliate disclosure.
