Affiliate disclosure
NorthOffice may earn a commission if you buy through a link. That is not happening on the current placeholder URLs. Research is independent. Placement is not paid unless a page says so.

The short version
If you buy software through a NorthOffice link after affiliate programs are live, NorthOffice may earn a commission. That does not change the price you pay. It is a reason to read comparisons carefully — incentives exist. The methodology explains how pages are researched and what “best” means.
Canadian advertising rules this page is written against
The federal Competition Act prohibits misleading advertising. Influencer and affiliate endorsements are expected to be clearly disclosed so a reader can see the commercial relationship. Ad Standards Canada influencer guidance says material connections (payment, free product, or commission) should be obvious. This disclosure is meant to be that notice — in plain language, on the site, not buried in a footer only.
What the links are in this version
v1 product links are official Canadian marketing URLs (or the vendor’s public homepage when a Canada-specific URL is the same). They are marked in the code as placeholder links. They are not affiliate tracking URLs. I have not applied to PartnerStack, Impact, CJ, or vendor in-house programs for this site.
Some of those same buttons may later point at tracked affiliate URLs. When that happens, the link still goes to the vendor, and this disclosure still applies. Until a link is swapped, I will not call it an affiliate link.
Where you will see this again
Every money page — the ten product guides and the homepage — has a disclosure near the top. Comparison call-to-action blocks repeat that we may earn a commission.
What is not a recommendation to buy through us
- Wave. Included as the honest free invoicing and bookkeeping option. There is no reliable publisher affiliate. I am not pretending there is.
- HubSpot Free and Starter. The later affiliate bet is paid HubSpot (commonly described as a share of payments for a limited term). Free CRM and Starter typically do not pay publishers.
- Wagepoint. Mentioned as a payroll product in the Canadian market. Not a v1 affiliate target.
- Semrush, Zensurance, TurboTax Canada, Klaviyo, and similar products are not in v1 as “buy through us” recommendations.
Independence
Vendors do not write these pages. There is no paid placement in v1. If a future page is sponsored, it will say so at the top in the same plain language as this disclosure.
