CRM
Best review and reputation software for Canadian small businesses
Google Business Profile is free. Birdeye and Podium are quote forms. Broadly prints $799/month with no CAD label. A review tool is not a CRM and not a website.
Last updated 6 September 2026. About 15 minutes. Research from public vendor docs and CRA pages — not a hands-on lab test.
A Smithville shop that just got its first one-star does not need another CRM. It needs to reply on Google without paying a “Maps listing” invoice, and to know whether the sales deck’s review blaster is a quote, a USD bundle, or the free Profile they already own. US reputation blogs skip that honesty.
This comparison is three paid names Canadians actually google, plus the free floor: Birdeye (quote), Podium (quote), Broadly ($799 unlabelled), and Google Business Profile (free). Review-management prices checked against public vendor pages, 6 September 2026. Buttons are official marketing URLs, not affiliate trackers.
Who this page is for
- A Canadian storefront or service-area business that lives or dies on Google reviews.
- An owner who was quoted Birdeye or Podium and needs to know those public pages print no dollars.
- A trades shop offered Broadly’s $799 bundle who needs USD honesty and a CASL reminder.
- Not a 400-location enterprise RFP. Not legal advice on review gating or CASL.
Snapshot (public pages, 6 September 2026)
Birdeye and Podium are quote forms. Broadly prints $799/month with no CAD label. Google Business Profile is free. Do not paste a blog’s $299 / $399 as a list price.
Birdeye
- Published software price
- Official page: “Pricing built around outcomes, not seat counts.” Location bands on the form: 1–3, 4–9, 10–39, 40–249, 250–999, 1000+. Official Birdeye blog “What does Birdeye cost?” (updated 7 April 2026): pricing is custom; driven by products selected, location count, and contract; typically evaluated per location; typically annual agreements with upfront or scheduled payment. Still no public sticker.
- Currency honesty
- birdeye.com/pricing is a location-count + phone form. It does not print CAD or USD plan cards. This page does not invent a per-location dollar from a third-party “street price.” Confirm currency and tax on the quote.
- What it actually does
- Official marketing: reviews, listings, multi-location, social, messaging — sold as one contract per what you deploy.
- Canada honesty
- No Canadian data-residency or CAD invoice claim on the public pricing page retrieved.
Podium
- Published software price
- Official pitch: AI Employee, messaging, and reviews for local businesses (auto, home services, aesthetics, retail). Price is a sales conversation.
- Currency honesty
- podium.com/getpricing is an industry picker plus “Get a custom quote.” It does not print CAD or USD plan cards. This page does not paste a competitor’s $399 / $599 as Podium’s list.
- What it actually does
- Official marketing: AI Employee plus messaging and reviews for local businesses. Price is the quote.
- Canada honesty
- No CAD card on getpricing. Confirm SMS, 10DLC, and tax on the quote — this page does not invent those add-ons.
Broadly
- Published software price
- 24/7 AI Workforce Package $799/month — AI receptionist, automated review responses, AI social posts, custom website (live in <7 days), listings on 70+ directories (Google, Apple Business, Bing, Yelp), automated email and SMS, local-search reporting. Setup done by Broadly. No setup fee, no per-user fee on that FAQ. Official FAQ: month-to-month, cancel anytime, no cancellation fee; annual / paid-in-full discount exists but the dollar is not printed. Optional Google Ads / Meta Ads billed separately.
- Currency honesty
- broadly.com/pricing-ai-workforce/ prints $799/month with no CAD or USD prefix. Treat as USD. Confirm currency and tax at checkout. Do not convert to CAD yourself.
- What it actually does
- Official FAQ: automatic review ask by text after the job; AI drafts Google and Facebook replies; sensitive replies can be flagged for approval. That is a solicitation engine, not Google Business Profile itself.
- Canada honesty
- Official FAQ cites TCPA and “U.S. service businesses” for bilingual AI. A Canadian shop still needs CASL for commercial electronic messages. This page is not legal advice.
Google Business Profile
- Published software price
- Official business.google.com/ca-en/business-profile/: “Stand out on Google with a free Business Profile” and “Get a free Business Profile in 3 simple steps.” Official Help “Add or claim your Business Profile”: you can add or claim your business at no charge. Official Help “Get started”: manage how the business shows up on Maps and Search at no charge.
- Currency honesty
- Free. No CAD or USD software sticker. Google Ads / Local Services Ads are separate optional spend.
- What it actually does
- The Canada page markets “manage customer reviews” and “respond to customer reviews.” Official Help: signed-in owners can reply; the reply appears as “Response from the owner.” That is not automated review requests, not Yelp/Facebook syndication, and not a paid listing.
- Canada honesty
- Official Help: Business Profiles are not for online-only businesses with no in-person location or service area. Eligibility and representation guidelines still apply. A PO box is not an address.
Birdeye — location bands, still a quote
Official birdeye.com/pricing (6 September 2026): Official page: “Pricing built around outcomes, not seat counts.” Location bands on the form: 1–3, 4–9, 10–39, 40–249, 250–999, 1000+. birdeye.com/pricing is a location-count + phone form. It does not print CAD or USD plan cards. This page does not invent a per-location dollar from a third-party “street price.” Confirm currency and tax on the quote. Official Birdeye blog “What does Birdeye cost?” (updated 7 April 2026): pricing is custom; driven by products selected, location count, and contract; typically evaluated per location; typically annual agreements with upfront or scheduled payment. Still no public sticker. Sources: https://birdeye.com/pricing/; https://birdeye.com/blog/what-does-birdeye-cost/.
Birdeye is the usual multi-location reputation stack. Walk into the call with your location count. Do not treat a contractor blog’s $299 Starter as Birdeye’s list. Get the currency in writing.

Podium — custom quote, no public card
Official podium.com/getpricing (6 September 2026): Official pitch: AI Employee, messaging, and reviews for local businesses (auto, home services, aesthetics, retail). Price is a sales conversation. podium.com/getpricing is an industry picker plus “Get a custom quote.” It does not print CAD or USD plan cards. This page does not paste a competitor’s $399 / $599 as Podium’s list. Source: https://www.podium.com/getpricing.
Podium is the inbox-plus-reviews pitch — texts, webchat, AI employee, then the star rating. The public page will not give you a Canadian dollar. If a salesperson quotes USD, label it USD. The people those texts belong to still need a CRM if you want a pipeline, not just a thread.

Broadly — $799 bundle, unlabelled dollars
Official broadly.com/pricing-ai-workforce/ (6 September 2026): 24/7 AI Workforce Package $799/month — AI receptionist, automated review responses, AI social posts, custom website (live in <7 days), listings on 70+ directories (Google, Apple Business, Bing, Yelp), automated email and SMS, local-search reporting. That is a solicitation engine, not Google Business Profile itself. Source: https://broadly.com/pricing-ai-workforce/.
Official FAQ cites TCPA and “U.S. service businesses” for bilingual AI. A Canadian shop still needs CASL for commercial electronic messages. This page is not legal advice. The bundle includes a Broadly-built site. That is not a substitute for comparing Squarespace, Wix, or Shopify on the website-builders guide. Official FAQ: you can keep your domain and content if you leave. Trades shops that already live in Jobber should still read trades software before they replace the ops stack with a receptionist bundle. The site Broadly builds is not the CAD vs Interac storefront comparison on website builders.

Google Business Profile — free, and not a blaster
Official business.google.com/ca-en/business-profile/ and Google Help (6 September 2026): Official business.google.com/ca-en/business-profile/: “Stand out on Google with a free Business Profile” and “Get a free Business Profile in 3 simple steps.” Official Help “Add or claim your Business Profile”: you can add or claim your business at no charge. Official Help “Get started”: manage how the business shows up on Maps and Search at no charge. The Canada page markets “manage customer reviews” and “respond to customer reviews.” Official Help: signed-in owners can reply; the reply appears as “Response from the owner.” That is not automated review requests, not Yelp/Facebook syndication, and not a paid listing. Official Help: Business Profiles are not for online-only businesses with no in-person location or service area. Eligibility and representation guidelines still apply. A PO box is not an address. Google Ads and Local Services Ads are separate, optional paid products. They are not a fee to keep the Profile live. Official Maps Help flags invoices that charge you to “list on Google Maps” as a scam pattern — creating a Business Profile is free. Start here before you buy software. Claim the Profile, put the real hours, reply yourself. Then decide whether you need automation. Google Ads are optional. A “pay us to get you on Maps” invoice is the wrong product.
