Best webcams for Canadian small businesses
Logitech.ca prints CAD on C920s, Brio 500, and Brio 4K. AnkerWork CA prints $169.99 on the C300 (sold out). Dell Canada prints CAD on the WB3023. A 4K sensor is not a 4K Zoom send. A laptop camera is enough when it sits at eye level.
Last updated 7 September 2026. About 13 minutes. Research from public vendor docs and CRA pages — not a hands-on lab test.
A Smithville shop does not need a studio camera. It needs a face at eye level on Zoom or Teams, an honest CAD sticker, and a 4K claim that is not a fake 4K call. US “best webcam 2026” lists skip the part that changes the invoice: logitech.com/en-ca dollars, AnkerWork CA sold out, and the fact that the laptop camera may already be enough.
This comparison is the clips shops actually open: Logitech C920s (1080p), Brio 500 (1080p auto-framing), Brio 4K, AnkerWork PowerConf C300 / C200, and Dell WB3023 (2K, Teams and Zoom certified). Webcam prices checked against public vendor and Canadian retailer pages, 6 September 2026. This is not a camera lab.
Who this page is for
- A Canadian sole prop about to buy a 4K “creator” cam for a 40-minute Zoom Basic.
- Anyone on a laptop under a monitor who wonders why the client is staring at their ceiling light.
- Shops mixing “USB-C webcam” lists with auto-framing that only works after a vendor app.
- Not a hands-on camera lab. Not a streaming RFP. Not a conference-room video bar.
Snapshot (public pages, 6 September 2026)
Official CAD from logitech.com/en-ca, Dell Canada, and AnkerWork CA. Confirm live checkout. Not a camera lab.
Logitech C920s
- What you are actually buying
- A 1080p clip with a shutter. The current CA shop C920s — not a separate C920 CAD.
- Published CAD
- Official Logi CA $99.99. Staples sale $79.99 on one retrieve.
- 1080p vs 4K
- 1080p / 30 fps. Enough for Zoom and Teams.
- Auto-framing
- No official auto-framing claim. Tune can zoom / FOV.
- When a laptop camera is enough
- Stay on the laptop if it is 1080p at eye level. Buy C920s when you want a shutter and a higher clip.
Logitech Brio 500
- What you are actually buying
- A 1080p cam with official auto-framing and Show Mode. Needs Logi Tune.
- Published CAD
- Official Logi CA $189.99.
- 1080p vs 4K
- 1080p. Not 4K. Buy this for framing, not megapixels.
- Auto-framing
- Yes. Official RightSight. Requires Logi Tune. Not Chrome OS.
- When a laptop camera is enough
- Skip it unless you walk around and will install Tune.
Logitech Brio 4K
- What you are actually buying
- A 4K sensor with HDR. The call is still whatever Zoom or Teams send.
- Published CAD
- Official product page $249.99. CA listing also printed $199.99 / $50 off.
- 1080p vs 4K
- 4K capture. Do not treat that as a 4K meeting.
- Auto-framing
- FOV presets in Options+ (65° / 78° / 90°). Not sold here as RightSight.
- When a laptop camera is enough
- Skip it for a 40-minute Zoom. Buy it to record locally or for the HDR claim.
Anker PowerConf
- What you are actually buying
- C300: 1080p/60 with AI framing (sold out). C200: 2K, no AI Frame row.
- Published CAD
- Official AnkerWork CA C300 $169.99, sold out. Amazon.ca C200 $79.95 / $79.99.
- 1080p vs 4K
- C300 is 1080p/60. C200 is 2K. Neither is a 4K Zoom send.
- Auto-framing
- C300: official AI framing / face tracking. Needs AnkerWork firmware. C200: no AI Frame.
- When a laptop camera is enough
- Skip C300 if it is sold out and you only need 1080p. C200 is the cheaper 2K clip.
Dell WB3023
- What you are actually buying
- A 2K QHD cam, Zoom and Teams certified. Face detection, not walk-around framing.
- Published CAD
- Official Dell CA $98.99 (one retrieve $96.99). Amazon.ca $87.99.
- 1080p vs 4K
- 2K QHD up to 30 fps; HD up to 60. Still the app’s ceiling on the call.
- Auto-framing
- Official face detection. Not Brio 500 / C300 walk-around framing.
- When a laptop camera is enough
- Buy it if you already live in Dell and want Teams / Zoom certified on the box.

Logitech C920s — 1080p, shutter, still the shop default
Official logitech.com/en-ca C920s Pro HD Webcam: $99.99. In stock on this retrieve. Free standard shipping on orders of $49 and above. Staples same-day printed $79.99 (was $99.99, 20% off) on one retrieve — retailer sale, confirm live. Official: Full HD 1080p at 30 fps, glass lens, 78° field of view, HD auto light correction, dual mics, privacy shutter. Logi Tune can adjust zoom and field of view. Official copy does not claim auto-framing. This is a clip-on USB webcam, not a laptop camera and not a 4K Brio. Source: Logitech.
Use it when the laptop camera is 720p or pointed at the ceiling because the notebook is under a monitor. The meeting is still Zoom, Meet, or Teams. Do not buy a Brio 4K for the same 1080p call.

Logitech Brio 500 — 1080p auto-framing, Logi Tune required
Official logitech.com/en-ca Brio 500: $189.99. In stock on this retrieve. Amazon.ca printed the same $189.99 on one retrieve. Official: Full HD 1080p with light correction, auto-framing, and Show Mode. RightLight 4. Dual noise-reducing mics. USB-C. Privacy cover. Official Amazon.ca / Logi copy: auto-framing (RightSight) centers you as you move and Show Mode tilts the camera down — both require Logi Tune; Tune is not available for Chrome OS. 1080p, not 4K. Source: Brio 500 (Logi CA).
Pay the extra when you stand and walk and will install Tune. Show Mode is for a packing slip on the desk, not a second camera. This is still 1080p.

Logitech Brio 4K — 4K honesty
Official logitech.com/en-ca Brio 4K product page: $249.99. The official CA webcams listing also printed $199.99 / $249.99 ($50 off) on one retrieve. Confirm the live card. Canada Computers still listed the older Brio (960-001105) at $249.99. Official: 4K webcam with HDR and active noise-cancelling mics. RightLight 3 with HDR. Dual omnidirectional mics (official: up to 3 feet). FOV presets 65° / 78° / 90° via Logi Options+ on Windows and macOS. A 4K sensor is not a 4K Zoom or Teams send — the meeting app still caps the call. This page will not invent a Zoom 4K add-on price. Source: Brio 4K (Logi CA).
Buy it to record a demo locally or because you want HDR on the sensor. Do not buy it because a US list said “4K meetings.” The seat that starts the call is Workspace or Microsoft 365 or a Zoom card on the video conferencing page.

Anker PowerConf — official CA C300, Amazon.ca C200
Official ca.ankerwork.com PowerConf C300 (A3361): $169.99, Sold Out on this retrieve. Official: 1080p/60 fps, dual mics with ANC, AI auto low-light correction, AI framing / face tracking (pan and tilt), autofocus in 0.35 seconds, snap-on privacy cover, Zoom Certified. Official comparison table on the same C300 page: PowerConf C200 is 2K, autofocus, AI noise cancellation, built-in privacy cover — no AI Frame row. Amazon.ca (AnkerDirect-CA) printed $79.95 / $79.99 on this retrieve. Official US AnkerWork printed $69.99 — do not paste that as CAD.
Use C300 when you want official AI framing and the $169.99 card is in stock. Use C200 when you want a cheaper 2K clip without the AI Frame row. Confirm Amazon.ca vs the US AnkerWork dollar.

Dell WB3023 — 2K, Teams and Zoom on the box
Official dell.com/en-ca shop listing (part 319-BBJQ): CAD $98.99. One product-page retrieve also printed CAD $96.99. Confirm the live sticker. Amazon.ca printed $87.99; CDW.ca $95.99. Best Buy Canada listed the SKU sold and shipped by Dell Canada without a clear sticker on that retrieve. Official / Best Buy CA copy: 2K QHD (2560×1440) up to 30 fps; FHD 24/30; HD up to 60 fps. Sony sensor, HDR, autofocus, face detection, 78° / 65° FOV, privacy shutter, USB-A, 1.5 m cable. Zoom Certified and Certified for Microsoft Teams. 3-year limited hardware with Advanced Exchange. Face detection is not the same as Brio 500 / Anker C300 auto-framing. Source: Dell.
Stay here if the shop already buys Dell and wants the certified logos. Face detection is not walk-around framing. 2K is not 4K and is not a Teams seat — that seat is Microsoft 365.

When a laptop camera is enough
- Recent 1080p built-in, window light, laptop at eye level: stay. Tape a sticky over the lens if you want a shutter.
- Laptop under a monitor: clip a C920s or WB3023 to the panel so the client sees your face, not the ceiling.
- You walk while you talk: Brio 500 (Tune) or Anker C300 (firmware). Confirm the app runs on your OS.
- You record a local demo and want the 4K file: Brio 4K. The live call is still the meeting app’s ceiling.
- The problem is the link, not the lens: video conferencing.
A practical pick
- Laptop under a monitor, 1080p is enough: Logitech C920s at $99.99. Confirm the Staples $79.99 sale if it is live.
- Walk-around framing and you will install Tune: Brio 500 at $189.99.
- Local 4K / HDR, not a 4K Zoom fantasy: Brio 4K. Confirm $249.99 vs any $199.99 sale.
- Official AI framing, not Logitech: Anker C300 at $169.99 when it is not sold out. Otherwise C200 on Amazon.ca.
- Already in Dell, want Teams / Zoom certified: WB3023 at $98.99. Confirm the live Dell CA card.
- The meeting still needs a seat — video conferencing and Workspace vs Microsoft 365.
